“let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus,

whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

-Peter on the Day of Pentecost

He is Risen! But not even a pandemic can keep Jesus in the tomb!

Join us for worship this morning at 10:55.

This week we celebrate God’s gift to the Church of the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit was poured out upon all who were gathered in the Upper Room, and later upon all who believed no matter where in the world they came.

We tend to establish who we think God is reaching. In my college days, we were told we should focus our attention on certain people groups in certain parts of the world because they would be more receptive to the gospel. The church growth movement wanted to find those who were predisposed to accepting the message of the gospel. But it seems that on the Day of Pentecost, the Spirit did not try to figure out which people group would be most receptive. Rather God spoke to ” Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome  (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs.” This was God’s first step in the mission of Breaking down the dividing walls.

May we hear the message of Peter that God has made Jesus, the crucified one, both Lord and Messiah” – Our Savior and companion.

How to Connect this Week

Each week during this time of global crisis, we, as a congregation, will continue to gather spiritually in worship and prayer at 10:55 AM in our homes and with our families. This week, we will be presenting a worship service on Zoom that will be recorded and made available through our website.

Here are the directions:

Use this link on your PC, Mac, smart phone or tablet

or you can use your phone to call either of these numbers and use this identification number: 328-071-4972

+1 253 215 8782

 +1 301 715 8592

If you connect by phone, there are 2 commands that will help. *6 will mute or unmute your phone and *9 will “raise you hand” so the host can call on you.

If you are unable to connect with this service, here are some thoughts for your own time of worship as you read and meditate on Acts 2.

Here is a song that invites you to join in a time of meditation:

“It is Well”

If you want to join more worship that is being streamed, you can find this map and links to churches in the region online:

I hope this will offer you encouragement this week. I will reach out again through the week.

Remember, you can continue to support the work of the church by giving through our safe and secure giving portal at https://secure-q.net/donations/Hatboro/1435. The needs of the church continue. In addition, the needs around us are growing.

SPECIAL GIFT: This week we also encourage you to make a special gift to help us remember those who have died by supporting our cemetery. You can make your gift online and specify that gift in the “Notes” section of the contribution form.

If you are available to help others who are in need, please contact us at the church or by email @ pastor.hatboro@gmail.com. We are working on a database of helpers and needs that we will be able to address.

Have a blessed week,

Pastor Doug
